100Mph Posting this because its funny
As someone who works with embedded systems, it looks like a software issue. The speed you’re seeing is probably coming from the drone’s GPS. It’s not stuck at a random high number but showing something wrong that still relates to the real speed. GPS systems don’t usually fail like that. The issue is somewhere else in the system that’s reading the GPS data.
Try switching the speed units to kph or m/s and see if the problem is still there. That should help figure out where the problem is.
@Randy I’ll give that a try tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!
@Randy Weird bug for sure. It might be caused by a wrong conversion factor. If that’s the case, more people should be seeing this unless you did something that triggered it.
Mine had the same issue. Do you use any drone-hacks software?
@Nathan No, what’s that?
@Recycler It’s a site where you can do things with your drone that aren’t approved by DJI.
@Nathan Oh, cool! I’ll check that out. Thanks!
@Nathan I use drone-hacks, and mine had the same issue!
Wow, is it really going that fast?
@Davis Thankfully no, lol. I think it was only going about 36 mph in sport mode.
What’s the speed limit there? You passed a car on the road. Is it 35, 45, or 55 mph?
@Alexis Good catch! The speed limit is 45 mph, but people tend to drive slower because the road is narrow. I might have been going a little over 36 mph though.
@Recycler Did you notice at 16 seconds, you almost had a bird strike?
@Alexis Yeah, happens all the time.
@Recycler Definitely not something a Texan would miss!
That looks more like 10 m/s, not 100 mph. Try changing the speed units to m/s or km/h and see if the numbers still seem off. Your descending speed also looks like 2.7 m/s, not 27 mph.
Looks like the GPS hasn’t locked in yet.
Try resetting it. But you were moving pretty fast, so…
@Brice I don’t think it can actually go that fast.
