About how much might this cost to properly fix?

Not my drone so I don’t know all the details. My boss crashed his Mini 3 into a crane at work and it hit the ground hard. Any rough idea how much fixing it might cost? Or is it better to just get a new one?

Does he have DJI Care Refresh?

I have no idea. It’s not my drone.

Try to find a donor drone body to swap parts.

Fixing it yourself by ordering parts online would probably cost over half the price of a used working Mini 3. That’s what happened to me with my Mini 2. I just made a hack fix that works okay but doesn’t look great.

If you don’t have Care Refresh, and you’re handy, maybe try gluing the gimbal back if it’s broken and get a new flex cable (maybe about 15€). But if the camera is really busted, then that might not be possible. Then it’s better to go through DJI or buy a new one.

Looking closer, the camera might be damaged too, so the glue trick might not work.

A friend lost his Mini 3 off a cliff and DJI gave him a new one for 215€. He didn’t have Care Refresh either.

DJI repair might be cheapest, maybe around 100-120 USD. They often send refurbished drones back fast.

I smashed my Mavic 3 Pro into a tree, then it tumbled onto concrete. The camera and motors were all broken, arms broken but still held by wires. It cost me about 136 USD to fix, and I sent it Monday and got it back Friday.
