Ordered an Avata 2, but it’s been stuck in customs in Oakland for over two weeks now. Anyone else dealing with this?
So the gov’t tried to push the countering CCP drones act, failed, and now they’re just blocking them at customs using UFLPA claims? Feels like they’re banning them without actually banning them.
Same thing happened with my Mini 4 Pro. Got stuck in Oakland, so I gave up and started the refund process. Ended up ordering the same kit from Adorama on Friday—should be here Tuesday.
Had an Air 3 stuck in Anchorage customs for 3 weeks. Finally canceled it and decided to take one of my older drones on my trip. FedEx told me it was ‘missing a commercial invoice,’ but I find it hard to believe DJI messed up paperwork. Feels more like customs playing games.
@Corin
Yep, looks like they’re just finding ways to block them. We’ve seen this before in other industries. Can’t get the ban passed? Just make it impossible to import or process payments. Same playbook.
I called FedEx, and they gave me a reference number. Told me to call 1-800-249-2953 tomorrow to see if I can get an update. They also said I don’t need to fill out any paperwork. Might be worth calling the same number and seeing what they tell you. I’ll report back if I hear anything.
@Hayes
I’ve already filled out 5106 forms twice and sent them to FedEx twice. Still no updates.

Hopefully we find out tomorrow
Best bet is finding a reputable seller on eBay. At least they already have them in hand.
Damn, that’s wild. Haven’t heard of anything like this happening recently.
