@Ashwin
Honestly, I think if it gives you peace of mind, it’s worth looking into. That’s just my take.
I’m getting ready to fly in Europe, and I found out that my home insurance covers me worldwide for liability. It doesn’t cover damage to the drone itself, but if you fly carefully, that shouldn’t be an issue. I’m all set after just one evening of prep.
My company uses SkyWatch.ai for our fleet. We cover four drones, including physical damage, hull loss, and theft. The price isn’t the lowest, but it fits our budget. The Matrice 30s are pricey, so we went for a more comprehensive plan.
Our coverage includes:
- $1,000,000 liability
- $100,000 personal injury
- $1,000 for medical expenses
It costs around $250 a month.
@Harley
Just heard that SkyWatch.AI is hiking their prices by 250%.
@Harley
Check out AMA insurance. It’s $85 a year.
@Harley
I’m mainly looking for personal insurance, not a business plan. But $250 a month doesn’t sound bad for what you’re getting.

SkyWatch has a tool to estimate costs if you’re curious.

Are you mostly concerned about repair coverage for your drone?
I got DJI Care for my Mini 3 Pro. $150 for two years, which covers accidental damage and flyaway. If something goes wrong, just send it in, and they replace it within a few days. You can do this for up to three drones a year.
@Finley
But flyaway coverage comes at an extra cost, about 75% of the replacement price. It’s not cheap.
State Farm’s personal asset plan covers drones, but it’s mostly just for damage to the drone itself.
Does anyone know how easy it is to file a claim with State Farm? Looking into it.
