I’m a GIS professional and I’m interested in getting my drone license. My local community college has a three-course ‘Advanced UAS Certificate Program’ (link here). I’m curious if others who got their drone license did something similar? Did you find it useful? I’ve never flown a drone before and I’m not familiar with FAA rules.
Totally worth it. I used Drone Pilot Ground School. The course breaks everything down into small parts, gives little quizzes after each section, and includes a full practice test with the sectional map book that you’ll need for the real exam. I passed my test on the first try. They even offer a refund if you fail your first test.

Incredible value. I scored 93 on my first try, and I’m usually not good at tests.

Another vote for Drone Pilot Ground School. Greg does a great job of explaining everything, making sure you understand what you need to know to pass the part 107 test. Totally worth the price.

I agree. Three of us took this in 2018 and passed with excellent scores. I learned a lot, plus they gave us helpful tips for the exam.
You can try YouTube videos at 1.25 speed and then do some practice tests.
I think it’s worth it. The part 107 is simple, but learning the rules and laws in detail is so helpful. Also, having someone teach you how to fly is a huge bonus.
No, just watch a YouTube series for passing the part 107. When you feel ready, call the testing center to ask if they offer practice tests. Many of them do, and it’ll help you know if you’re ready to take the real test. That’s what I did, and I got 100%.
Yes, I took the part 107 course at my local community college and learned a lot! I highly recommend it.
No
Yes, I used the Pilot Institute course, and it helped break down each part of the test.
