Hey everyone, I’m picking up my DJI Mini 4 Pro tomorrow and want to grab a MicroSD card at the same time. I’d like to get the biggest one possible. Do I need a separate card for both the drone and the remote, or is one enough? Also, my laptop doesn’t have an SD or MicroSD slot—any recommendations for an adapter? I have USB A and C ports.
You don’t need a MicroSD card for the remote, but it can be useful for screen recording if you want that feature. For cards, the SanDisk Extreme is solid, but if you want the fastest transfer speeds, the Extreme Pro is even better.
Make sure whatever card you get has the V30 designation—it’ll handle any recording format without issues. The controller only needs a card if you plan to record the interface.
Some people go for the biggest storage possible, but I use a 128GB card, and even after a full flight session, it’s only about 20% full. But I also offload my footage as soon as I get home.
For adapters, any USB 3.0 card reader that supports MicroSD should work fine. Most of them also have a regular SD slot.
