Day 2 of flying a drone... went well?

Mini 2

That damage doesn’t look too bad, should be an easy fix.

I already sent it to DJI in Mississauga for repairs. From what I’ve read, it shouldn’t cost too much. Think I should have waited? The arm was my biggest concern. I could probably fix it myself, but I wasn’t sure if it was worth the risk.

@Noor
I’m in Toronto and actually do drone repairs myself. Not trying to advertise, but I could’ve fixed it for you. That said, there are plenty of YouTube videos that walk you through it.

I actually picked it up in Toronto over the weekend—got the Fly More Combo for $380. I don’t really want to mess with fixing it myself. Everyone says DJI repairs are cheap enough, and I already see more value in this than I ever did in other cameras. If I did try, how much would I be looking at to fix it myself? Props and battery cover seem easy enough, but the arm looks complicated.

@Noor
The arm hinge is like $10, and the battery cover isn’t really necessary to replace, but if you want to, that’s around $15. The battery just snaps in.

So most of the cost is just labor?

Took me three Minis to finally figure out how to fly properly.

@Yun
That’s rough. I learned from YouTube and now I’ve done at least 20 repairs.

I’m just clumsy, leave me alone lol.

@Yun
How long did it take you to go through three drones?

Crashed my Mini 4 and broke an arm along with some other damage. Sent it in Sunday evening, they got it the next day, and quoted me $69. Should have it back tomorrow or Friday. DJI customer service was amazing! So glad I got DJI Care.

@Zeek
Same experience here. They’ve been super helpful.

@Zeek
Yeah, I hear they’re really good about repairs and replacements.

Definitely! Not even stressed about crashing it again lol.

I just activated my DJI Care—forgot to do it within 48 hours, but they let me send in two pictures and linked it to my drone!

If you get a replacement, you can actually buy DJI Care for the new unit. It’s just a different process, but totally possible if you send them proof the drone is working.

Send it in—probably won’t cost much. DJI repairs have always been dirt cheap for me.

Already did, should be a smooth process.

Oof.

Mini 2s can take a hit and still fly fine after some minor repairs. You could fix it yourself and save some cash.
