DJI Air 3S - Misaligned legs?

Completely normal tolerances.

Thanks! :smiley:

Move the gimbal cover a little, as it’s clearly not centered … I feel you as I also pay attention to stuff like this :slight_smile:

Yeah, I noticed the spacing I showed on the top was mainly due to the gimbal not being completely centered. So it’s only the tiny asymmetry near the drone body.

Thanks for the answer and for helping my “OCD” :smiley: - I almost hate buying new stuff because I always start fussing about miniscule things.

Nope, totally normal

Hi! This probably seems very OCD and don’t ask me how I noticed. However, I received this beautiful new drone yesterday and was checking it out. I noticed that when folded, the rear legs weren’t completely symmetrical with the spacing between the legs and the drone.

It’s pretty minimal, but as you can see the right leg (left on the image) is closer to the body of the drone, but the motor is further away from the gimbal housing. Opposite, the left leg is further away from the drone body, but the motor is closer to the gimbal housing.

Is this asymmetry/variation normal? I was wondering since I thought symmetry was very important in drones due to stabilization?

@Remy
Stabilization isn’t THAT important on drones as they are unstable by nature; the electronics keep them stable. Also, since they are made in a mall, I would guess any Air 3S has the same flaws you described. Just take off and see :slight_smile:

@Reign
Flies amazing - coming from a Mini 2, it just feels so smooth and stable! Thanks for helping my “OCD” hehe.

No problem! I understand your concern, but any drone is kept stable by electronics; the rotors only provide lift.

@Remy
It looks ok, but I do this too and drive myself nuts :joy:.

Drives me insane sometimes… every time I buy new stuff, there’s an initial period of OCD haha.

I can’t stare too long at my shower or floor tiles cause then I will start to notice repeating patterns when it’s supposed to have a “random” look. I also dislike the gallery style of picture hanging where it’s different sized frames spaced randomly together. I need uniform, evenly spaced framing. So yeah, now that you pointed this out, I hope I forget by the time I get around to purchasing an Air 3S.
