DJI Delivery Refused by US Customs… What’s Going On?

I got a phone call today saying that my recent purchase was returned by customs. DJI mentioned they would refund my original payment method. The person on the phone seemed offended and insisted they don’t use child labor? Strange call. Eventually found what I needed elsewhere, though at a higher price. Fingers crossed that refund comes through!

Have you thought about buying through a distributor like Adorama?

Yep, that’s what I ended up doing.

The DJI rep provided a list of authorized US sellers and Adorama was listed, but they were out of stock. Same with Best Buy. How are you liking it?

A lot of distributors and dealers seem to be out of stock too. The Mavic 3 Enterprise has been tough to find for several months.

Is anyone else feeling like our country is letting us down? This is ridiculous!

Land of the free, right?

Yup, my Mini 4K got marked as Returned to Shipper on DHL. I called right away to ask for a refund. Not dealing with that hassle. Now I have to decide if I should get Care Refresh for the Mini 4 Pro if they can’t even send drones here.

@Shai
Hmm, good point.

@Shai
Care Refresh replacements are supposed to arrive within a couple of days, which means they’re likely coming from local stock.

That makes the $125 I’m about to spend a little easier to accept.

Same here. I switched to FPV and haven’t gone back to DJI drones. My last was the Avata 2, but I tried ordering an Air 3S and Mavic separately a couple of months apart, and both were stuck by customs. I finally canceled them, but it took about 3 weeks past the delivery date before I asked for a refund. At that point, DJI seemed to be just issuing refunds.

I had the same problem. My DJI Flip was seized and returned. I requested a refund multiple times and finally got it after a month. I ordered through DJI Mexico’s authorized website, and it will arrive at my family’s home tomorrow. Perks of living near the border!

@Chen
Wow, it’s crazy that people have to go through all this.

Customs has been blocking shipments for months, and our supplier says they may never get through.

I haven’t had any issues with DJI shipments. So THREE items ordered in just a few days get canceled and returned? The DJI rep hinted that it had to do with tariffs and customs.

@Reagan
This has been happening for five months, long before any political changes. We’re trying to buy Enterprise products, but they’re stuck in customs over some labor dispute.

Let’s keep focused on the original message here about the delivery issue… and how many others are experiencing this.

I experienced the same with two DJI items I ordered separately. My Mic Mini was canceled after being held in customs for a couple of days. A Powerbank 500 cable was also canceled, all due to those Trump tariffs. I heard some got emails from DHL asking for extra payments… no thanks. I ordered another Mic from Amazon… it was supposed to arrive today but is now delayed. It’s a total mess.

@Reagan
This isn’t just about tariffs or the past president. Check around this forum and see what was happening before.
