DJI Osmo Mobile 7P… Got it in under 24 hours… Unboxing!

The store offered free fast shipping, but I didn’t expect it to actually arrive this quick. I live in SW Idaho and thought UPS might delay it, but nope… Less than 24 hours later, it’s here. Well done DJI. Here’s the unboxing:

Same here. Ordered yesterday, they said it’d be here today. I’m in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Then this morning, UPS emailed saying it was delayed and would come tomorrow. An hour later… it showed up anyway! DJI and UPS did great. I’ll be posting my own unboxing soon.

Got mine an hour ago too.

Anyone tested this with Android? I have a Samsung and I’m stuck between this and the Flow Pro 2.

I have a Google Pixel 8 Pro, been testing it and will try to make a video soon. Here’s what I’ve figured out so far:

  1. They said Android support is better now, and yeah… it actually is.

  2. Everything in the manual works fine on my Android phone.

  3. No weird bugs so far.

  4. Gesture control isn’t on by default in the Mimo app. You have to turn it on manually. Once it’s on, it works. If you’re using the front camera, the app shows a 3-second countdown after you make a gesture, then it starts tracking and recording. If you’re using the back camera, the flash blinks three times as a countdown, then it starts tracking and recording. One thing though… gesture control drains battery faster.

  5. Active Track does NOT work in 4K/60fps. Only in 4K/30fps or lower. At least on my phone.

  6. If you connect to the OM7P with just Bluetooth and don’t use the Mimo app, gestures will still work, but the multifunction module controls them instead.

  7. If you’re using the OM7P with Bluetooth and recording with your phone’s default camera app, the mic might not work right away. You have to tweak a setting:

    1. Open the camera app and switch to video mode.
    2. Tap the settings icon (bottom left).
    3. Scroll down to Microphone settings.
    4. Change it to the ‘cable’ option. This makes the external mic work instead of the phone mic.

That’s pretty much all the major stuff I ran into. #7 might be Android-specific, but otherwise, everything works well.
