Do I need a license for my Mini 4 Pro with the plus battery in the USA?

I fly my drone just for fun, so do I need a license since it’s over 250g? From what I’ve read, I just need the TRUST certificate and to register it with the FAA. Is that all, or do I need to pay for a Part 107 license too?

Edit: Thanks to everyone for the help! I got my TRUST certificate and the FAA ID attached to the drone.

For RECREATIONAL FLIGHT (not for work or profit):

License: no

Register with FAA: yes

TRUST CERTIFICATE: yes

This is the right answer. So many people here are giving wrong info, which shows that the FAA or government should start requiring the TRUST or Part 107 cert before letting people buy drones.

@Blakely
Man, shut up. People like you just bend over for any dumb law.

It takes like 20 minutes to do the TRUST test, and it’s free… if you can’t be bothered to read or take a free test, just say that.

@Blakely
I have mine, but you sound like someone who just loves more pointless rules.

When idiots fly over stadiums or busy areas, more regulations come down. Fly smart, and it won’t happen.

@Blakely
That’s on the people with no common sense. You think they’ll read or pass the test? They’ll just keep doing it.

If they had to pass the TRUST test before buying a drone, it would help.

My comment got deleted, but basically, if the drone’s over 250g, you need to register it.

DJI’s website says the drone is under 249g with a standard battery, but over 250g with the plus battery. So if you’re using the bigger one, you gotta follow the rules.

@Blake
Sorry, I deleted my previous comment, but yeah, you’re right. The plus battery pushes it over the limit.

I weighed mine on a food scale, and it was 304g. Might not be exact, but definitely over the 250g mark.

@Blake
You just posted info that proves you need to register if you’re using the plus battery, haha.

Yeah, they probably just copied and pasted that without reading.

@Blake
This is hilarious.

Yep, register with the FAA since it’s over 250g and get the TRUST cert if you’re flying for fun. Part 107 if it’s for anything else.

Technically, yeah, you need to register with the FAA.

I’ve got the plus batteries and fly just for fun. I use the larger batteries because they give me the flight time I need for longer shots. I’ve never heard of the TRUST certificate until now, and I’m on my third DJI drone.

@Wei
I’d get the TRUST certificate, but it’s weird that DJI never mentioned it when I bought my drones.
