My drone got stuck way up in a tree, and I have no idea how to get it down. Any advice?
Use another drone to knock it out.

Hmm… what if that one gets stuck too?
If it’s about 20 feet up, try this: get a light rope and an old sock, cut the toe end off, fill it with sand, and tie it to the rope. Throw it over the branch and shake until the drone falls (have someone ready to catch it!).
@Reeve
That’s a great idea! I’ll keep it in mind for next time. The drone is higher than it looks in the video; you can barely see it from the ground. I couldn’t throw anything that high, but I’m sure someone could.
@Ellis
It seems closer to the roof than the ground. Could you get a ladder and use a long stick or pole to hit the branch? If you’re out in the woods and have a gun, maybe try shooting the branch off with a shotgun or a .22—just don’t hit the drone!
@Ellis
You could try a slingshot with a strong fishing line over the branch, then shake the line to get the drone down. Same concept!

First time flying my drone today and 5 minutes in, it got stuck in a 50-foot tree and lost connection. I rushed to buy a rope, tied it to a stick, threw it over the branch, and shook until the drone came down. Lesson learned: avoid trees on the next flight!
Avoid flying near trees, especially when learning.

Thanks, yeah, I didn’t see that branch coming.
Throw the cat up there, then call the fire department?

Buy a long pool skimmer, use it to get the drone down, then return it.

Good call on the skimmer! Thanks.

Did you manage to get it back? I lost a DJI FPV over some trees in the mountains, never got it back.
@Clayton
Yes, a friend who was fixing the roof managed to get it. But the drone’s arms broke and it doesn’t work anymore.
If there’s a will, there’s a way.
