DJI AeroScope is super powerful… you got lucky they didn’t do more.
Honestly surprised they didn’t fine you… they’re usually strict, and fines can be pretty steep. The night flight alone was a clear rule break.

Breaking drone laws in foreign countries is never a good idea, especially in Singapore. They have Aeroscope tracking networks and aren’t lenient. If you’re flying illegally, expect heavy fines.
Where’s the banned video? Let’s see it!
What drone were you using? How long were you flying before they showed up?

It was a Mavic 2 Pro. I was about 20 minutes into the flight, but I never take off where I can be seen, so I guess it took them a bit to find me.
@Chin
Singapore’s tiny, so I bet they’ve got alerts for any drone signals.
DJI plays nice with the authorities; that’s why they’re allowed to operate. If you want to fly under the radar, you need a custom build.

Even with custom builds, they can still track you using signal triangulation.
It’s Singapore… they’ve got a long history of tight surveillance.
Singapore is super strict; they’ve even banned chewing gum. Always check the rules before flying a drone there.
Great pic and a good lesson learned.
Were you over the altitude limit or something? I checked the DJI app, and it didn’t show any restrictions for that spot.

The photo was taken at night, which is illegal. The DJI app isn’t reliable for checking legal fly zones; always use local resources like OneMap for Singapore.
@Grayson
Yeah, lots of missing details here.
Next time, come to Greece! No one really cares about drones, plus the beaches are amazing.

Been there, flown that, lol.

Nice! Which areas did you visit?

I saw a lot of no-drone signs in Santorini last year. Didn’t have my drone, so I didn’t test the rules.
Drone tracking tech has been around for a while. Airports and the military have advanced systems, but even police can get their hands on good tracking equipment.
Of all places, you pick Singapore to push the limits? You got really lucky… they don’t play.
