I just got a SpeedyBee Bee25, but they only had the PNP version in stock. That’s fine because I already have the DJI controllers, but I also have a RadioMaster Pocket ELRS controller. Do you think it would be worth soldering in an ELRS module, or should I stick with the DJI setup?
ELRS all the way. If there’s any issue with your O3, you’ll lose your RC link as well. With ELRS, you’re safer. I like it because I can easily switch to Angle mode or activate RTH if needed. With DJI, you might lose the RC link when you need it most.
@Ash
You’re right, I just ordered a few ELRS receivers. Now I just have to hope the solder gods are on my side and I don’t break anything while installing them.

If you’re not very experienced with soldering, maybe try practicing on some old boards before working on your quads.
I switched all of mine to ELRS from PNP DJI, mainly because I prefer my Boxer controller over the DJI one, and I didn’t want to carry two controllers everywhere. Plus, ELRS has a lot of benefits with range and penetration.
@Baylen
I really like the RadioMaster, especially after installing the billet gimbals.

Yeah, switching to hybrid pinch made a huge difference for my flying as well.
I switched all my PNP to ELRS. The new DJI controller with O3 isn’t great for freestyle, but if you have the older black DJI controller that works with Vista, it’s pretty good. Long term though, I’d suggest moving to ELRS.
@Ainsley
I just ordered an ELRS receiver for the Bee25. Now I need to find one for my Cinelog35. Any recommendations?
I’d rather lose video than lose control and video at the same time. If I lose video but still have control, I can switch to Angle mode to level out and then throttle up. Hopefully, I’ll get enough altitude to recover video.
