I realized I made a mistake on my Part 107 certificate—my date of birth is incorrect. To fix it, I need to visit the FAA Flight Standards Office (FSDO) in person, but appointments are only available by phone.
The problem? Every time I call, I just get an answering machine. I’ve left multiple messages, but no one has called me back.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get through to them?

The federal government is a mess right now.
My Global Entry application has been stuck for months, even though I had my interview and was approved. Calling them is useless.

Your federal representatives might be able to help—at least it’s worth reaching out.
Part of their job is assisting people with navigating government agencies.

Don’t even get me started on Global Entry. I paid the $100 application fee, but there’s never been an interview slot within 400 miles of me.

@Emmy
You can do an interview on arrival. It’s annoying the first time, but then you’re set.

Well, I guess you could try being born on a different day?
Do you know the name of the person you need to speak with at the FSDO?

Haha, good one.
No, I don’t have a specific contact—I just need to book an appointment.

They might have been short-staffed even before this administration. Keep trying.

Honestly, this kind of paperwork is going to be handled by AI soon. A lot of these jobs will disappear.

Yeah, funding for stuff like this has been cut.

Try stopping by the local airport where they do Part 107 testing. See if you can make an appointment in person.

You think they can change my birth date on the certificate?

@Val
No, but someone there might be able to help you get an appointment. It’s a lot harder to ignore someone who’s standing in front of you.
Just curious—how did you mess up your own birthday?

The U.S. is one of the only countries that uses MM/DD/YY. I mixed up the day and month.

Haha.
Reminds me of 1999 when NASA lost a $125M Mars probe because one team used metric and the other used imperial units. It burned up in the atmosphere.
