First-time drone flying tips?

It’s a DJI, so it’s super easy to learn and hard to crash. Just go to a field and have some fun!

I’m new to drones too, and I crashed my Mini 3 Pro by trying something dumb. Start in a big open space like a soccer field. If you lose sight of it, just hit the Return to Home button. It’s pretty amazing how it comes back to you on its own.

I love how you can move the home point on the map. I’ll often sit in the shade under some trees, but I want the drone to come back to a parking lot 30-40 feet away. So I just move the home point over there after I take off.

Don’t listen to anyone who says to fly over beaches. Start on a nice sunny day in an empty spot with no trees, birds, or anything else around. Fly it close to you so you can understand the controls, and test all the functions while it’s nearby.

With time, you’ll get more confident and start sending it further.
