I’m still practicing my parallax shots, and I thought this one turned out pretty cool. Shot just off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, NC.
Great footage! We don’t have much scenery like that in the UK, and when we do, it’s usually in a national park where flying is restricted.

If this was on the Blue Ridge Parkway, it’s restricted too.
@Kai
Really? Didn’t realize that.
Yeah, it’s part of the national park system, so drones aren’t allowed. Here’s more info: Frequently Asked Questions - Blue Ridge Parkway (U.S. National Park Service)(drones,Blue%20Ridge%20Parkway%20is%20prohibited.
@Kai
I’ve flown near Old Rag from a private road just outside park boundaries. The rules can be really confusing for this park.

COUNTRY ROADS…!!!
Take me home!!!
Last time I tried this, a park ranger told me off. Apparently, drones aren’t allowed there.

If you were on the parkway, that’s park service land where it’s not allowed. But if you’re on forest service land and it’s not a Wilderness area, it’s usually fine.
@Aris
I didn’t know that! I was just off the parkway near private property (technically).
Try landscape mode please.

You mean post the wide-angle version?

Yeah, the narrow crop doesn’t work well for landscapes.
Absolutely stunning!
Was this shot from a cable car or a train?
You can take off and land in places that allow it and fly into national parks, just don’t disturb anyone. That’s what I’ve read about flying near national parks.
I didn’t even know North Carolina had mountains!
