How come the Mini 2 doesn’t have RID but the 2SE does?

So I was trying to make sure my Mini 2 is all set up right, and I saw that the Mini 2SE got an update that adds RID. But I can’t find anything like that for my Mini 2. People are saying I’d have to buy a separate module.

Why wouldn’t they give this update to the Mini 2 too? It’s supposed to be the better one, and it costs more than the 2SE.

That’s because the SE came out after the Mini 2 and they added the RID feature into it from the start.
