I’ve been hearing mixed opinions on this. Some people say it works while others call it snake oil. I get that flying straight up or down can help, which I do. I’ve only had the tape on for a couple of flights so I don’t really have any solid results yet. I’m reaching out to those who have been flying for a while to share any real experiences instead of just theories. If this tape could even lower the chances of an attack by 5%, I’d like to know that.
I have my doubts, but it’s tough to really test how effective it is.

My previous group did tests with several members flying with the tape. We found noticeable differences when it came to Line of Sight distances using really visible skins.
@Rio
This is exactly the kind of input I’m looking for!

Just remember, reflective skin isn’t always super visible.

Honestly, I’m not sure what the difference is, but at least you provided more than just saying it doesn’t work.
@Marlowe
Think about high visibility as colors that stand out the most. There are plenty of studies on what colors are best for different environments. That’s why hunters and rescue teams wear orange in the woods and why fire trucks are neon yellow in cities. The downside of reflective decals is they only stand out if a bright light hits them. They help you find your drone in the dark but might not make much difference during a bright day.
@Rio
Could you break that down with some numbers and the methods you used?
@Rio
What does LOS mean? Is it loss of sight?

Honestly, I don’t see the point of it. Just get a strobe, that’s a better investment.
Why not try putting googly eyes on it?

At least you can have a laugh while watching it smash into a branch.

I’ve heard that could actually work!

Work for what? Is it going to stop a car from hitting your drone?
@Wren
No, I meant for birds, dude.

Only works for Magpies according to what I’ve read.
It might be good for recovery with a flashlight! And it looks pretty cool honestly.
From what I’ve seen, yes, but proving it definitively is tough.

Thanks, that’s all I was looking for—real experiences. I’m trying to avoid just getting opinions.
