I’m wondering if the Mini 3 works well for roof surveys and measuring roofs for a solar installation business.
I’ve seen people use them to make 3D models of buildings, so I’d say yes.
I use mine to check my roof after strong winds to make sure nothing’s loose.
I’ve seen videos where people use a Mini 4 Pro for 3D mapping, but I think the Pro controller has more features for stuff like that. The RC 2 controller is more limited. Not that it’s impossible with the Mini 4 Pro, but bigger drones like the Pro handle wind better and are built for commercial use.
Also, do you really need 3D mapping for a roof survey? You can get many measurements from the ground or Google Earth, then just use the drone for videos and photos.
I’m mostly going to use it for fun, and to show my clients the final look of their solar setup when I’m done.
Not really worth spending extra money on the Mini 3. The Mini 4K will do the same job for less.
