Yeah, it’s mostly pasture so it’s all visible from my spot. I’ve been using an old scope to peek around, but honestly I just want an excuse to upgrade gear.
Just to clarify — visual line of sight means you need to see the drone with your eyes alone, no binoculars or scopes. You have to be able to tell which way it’s facing.
Reflective tape can help, and it has to be daytime unless you’ve got night authorization.
Also, once you’re flying under Part 107, the sub-250g exemption goes away. You’d need to register it, and since the Mini 4K doesn’t have Remote ID built in, you’d need a module. Luckily they’re cheap and only required for non-recreational use.

If you use the heavier battery on the Mini 4K, it broadcasts Remote ID.
Actually, the Mini 4K doesn’t support the heavier batteries, so it never goes over 250g — and no Remote ID built-in. You might be thinking of the Mini 4 Pro.

Yep, the FAA would count this as non-recreational — so you’d need Part 107.
Exactly. I didn’t want to hit OP with too much info at once, but you’re right. Once you’re outside recreational use, Part 107 and Remote ID are required.
Not sure why these comments get downvoted — the FAA fines are serious, and new drone users should definitely be aware.
