Lag in Mini 4k video

Try a smaller Extreme card like 64GB or 128GB. How old is your current card?

It’s less than a year old. I’ve been using it on my Nintendo Switch without issues. I did format it through the DJI app—if that matters.

The Switch doesn’t need real-time writes, so slowdowns don’t matter. But with your drone, video data has to be written fast, or you’ll get frame drops.

That makes sense. Thanks! I’ll try the Extreme card and see if it helps.

Your SD card might be fake.

I don’t think it’s fake. I’ve been using it for a year, and I bought it from Amazon. I formatted it in the DJI app before using it with my drone.

Run a speed test on your PC.

I don’t have a card reader. I usually put it in my phone and copy the videos that way.

You’ll need a card reader to test the speed. Also, just get a SanDisk Extreme from a reputable seller.

A card reader costs like $5, and constantly removing the card from your phone could wear out the socket.

SanDisk Ultra cards used to be really slow, and while they’ve improved, they’re still not great for 4K. 4K requires sustained high-speed writes, and your card just can’t handle it. Use the Ultra for storage, not for high-speed recording. An Extreme card (which DJI recommends) will fix your issue. Also, beware of fake cards from Amazon FBA sellers—test your cards to be sure.

Thanks! I’ll get an Extreme card and update if the issue persists.
