Mavic Air won't take off... what am I missing?

So here’s my problem—I bought a second-hand drone for cheap so I could fly with my son (he’s 8, and we both have zero experience). I tested it when I bought it, and it worked great. Tried again a week later—still fine. But today, when we finally went to fly it together, all I get is this screen. No matter what I do, the props won’t even spin when I slide to take off. What am I doing wrong?

When you slide that takeoff prompt to the right, try pausing at the end for a moment—it sometimes needs a second to register.

Have you checked the user manual and gone through all the troubleshooting steps? Also, is your DJI Fly app and firmware up to date?

If you’re still stuck, you can send the flight logs to DJI support. They’re usually pretty good at figuring these things out.

Solved! Thanks, everyone. I reinstalled the software and had to recalibrate the compass. Works perfectly now!

Try pulling both control sticks down and inward to start the motors.

Tried that—still no luck. :disappointed:

When I power on the drone, the rotors do a little ‘click-click’ movement, so I think the motors are fine. Feels like some kind of connection issue. I’ve already updated the app. I don’t have DJI Premium, but I don’t think that should be causing this, right?

@Zane
Wait… you mentioned ‘Premium’? That’s a big red flag. It sounds like you downloaded a fake DJI app. The official DJI Fly app isn’t available on regular app stores anymore.

Uninstall what you have and download the real app from DJI’s official site:

@Uma
Yep, I realized that too late. Turns out I downloaded a fake app. Grabbed the official one from DJI’s site, recalibrated everything, and now it’s working!
