Mini 4 Pro Firmware Update: 400-foot Altitude Limit?

Just heard that the Mini 4 Pro won’t go over 400 feet AGL after the latest firmware update. A friend tried adjusting the max altitude, but it wouldn’t go past 400. Anyone else experiencing this?

Could you share the firmware update number? I flew mine a few hours ago and could go above 400 feet, though I got a warning.

I still get a warning near 400 feet, but it won’t go over that limit.

@Chen
Do you know what firmware or software version?

Turns out I was too close to a geozone. I have a license for that zone but didn’t realize I had to toggle it off when not in the area. Being near it kept me from going higher.

@Chen
Got it, thanks for clearing that up!

For reference, I’m on 01.00.0700 for the aircraft and 04.01.0000 for the remote controller.

Sounds like a setup to get us all to break the 400-foot rule, lol.

I made a tutorial on how to unlock higher altitudes: https://youtube.com/@lehl/community

Is this a restriction in the US or somewhere else?

Interesting, I’ll check my drone when I get a chance.

Could it be an altitude-restricted zone? Sometimes it’ll let you take off but won’t let you go above a certain height unless you unlock it.

Are you talking about FAA-regulated zones that need special authorization?

@Hadi
No, I mean the zones DJI has set up themselves. Sometimes they don’t match any real airspace restrictions.

I think DJI phased out those restrictions. Now it only limits height if you’re truly in a regulated zone.

@Hadi
Got a source for that? I heard it was only in Europe, and I can’t check since I’m unlocked in my area.

No official source, but I had a job in a previously restricted area, and the restrictions were gone.

@Hadi
Could it be that your previous unlock status carried over? Check here: DJI FlySafe

I get a similar warning on my Air 3, but I’m always cautious and haven’t tested it. Don’t want to risk issues or cause trouble for other drone flyers.
