Should I wait for the Mini 5 Pro
How long are you willing to wait? If you’re okay with after the summer, you can hold off.

Having it by July would be great.

In that case, it’s best to buy now; the Mini 5 won’t be available until after summer. The Mavic 4 Pro will probably be released soon.
@River
Any predictions for the Mini 5 Pro’s price? Will it fit into the current pricing bracket of the 4, making that cheaper, or will it be pricier?

Based on what I’ve seen, probably around $1500 for a Fly More package, with an additional $300 for tariffs. I suspect they will continue selling the Mini 4, and the Mini 5 will be priced higher. Hopefully, they will keep the same control system.
If you’re in the US, there are several threads about people not receiving their orders. If you can buy a Mini 4 from a store, why not do that? I doubt the Mini 5 will be shipped to the US anytime soon.
The Mavic 4 is set for an April announcement.
The Mini 5 Pro hasn’t even been rumored yet, but it’s expected to feature Lidar and a 1" sensor, which would be fantastic for a 249g drone. The 1" sensor will likely be a major upgrade from the Mini 3/4.
Since the Mini 4 Pro is relatively affordable, it might be wise to buy it now and sell it when the Mini 5 Pro is released. Furthermore, if you’re in the USA, expect a significant price increase for the Mini 5 Pro, especially with current tariff implications.
Just wait for the Mini 8 Pro Plus; it will be worth it!
What do you find lacking in the Mini 4 Pro? What upgrades are you expecting in the Mini 5? Aside from pricing, it’s hard to envision any groundbreaking features fitting into a 250g body.
@Ben
The new Lidar system like the one on the Air 3S would add tremendous flexibility and safety for drone operations. A better camera sensor would also be a significant plus. I want a lightweight, compact professional drone, but the Mini 4 Pro lacks features I need like night photography and zoom.
@AeroWhisperer
Why not consider the Air 3S instead?
It’s unlikely that the new Mini will incorporate high-tier technology right off the bat; they might include it in the next model instead.
Who would buy the higher-tier models otherwise?
This would likely elevate the price of the Mini models in my opinion.
@Ben
The Air 3S is too heavy for my needs.
@Ben
Exactly! Wait for the Mini 8 Pro; it has night vision capabilities!
If you want to know for sure, just ask DJI.

I actually spoke with DJI employees in person, and they mentioned it’s in development, but no release date is available.

So how would any of us know more? They already answered your question. You’re asking something you already have the answer to…
@Jamie
I just wanted to try my luck.

Well, unless you find someone with a crystal ball who can see the future, you already have your answer.
