Skydio CEO says trouble ahead for businesses relying on DJI drones… is he right?

@Bevin
Exactly, Skydio wants to dominate in search and rescue, inspections, etc., but they can’t because their drones don’t stack up.

Why would Skydio care about removing consumer drones? Makes no sense.

They probably just want the sky cleared for Amazon and Walmart’s drones.

Without DJI, where do consumers go for affordable drones? The market would shrink drastically without them.

@Wei
Amazon’s been working on delivery drones for ages, so this ban is less about Skydio and more about broader commercial interests.

Congress’s motivation is part posturing, part commercial interests. But at the end of the day, this ban will squeeze out small business operators and hobbyists.

@Wei
Skydio makes drones, right?

Yeah, but not for consumers.

Why do American companies keep doing this stuff?

We’re worried about drones but not our TVs, phones, and other stuff that’s actually handling our data? Priorities seem off.

Skydio just doesn’t hold a candle to DJI in any way.

After everything they’ve done, Skydio’s opinions don’t mean much anymore.

Anyone heard of this company called Teal Drones?

Yeah, they’re mostly focused on military applications. Cool tech, but not really for the average person.

Skydio needs to learn what competition is. Make a better drone and see how it goes.

Skydio’s just paying Congress to get ahead because they can’t compete otherwise. Ridiculous.

My Mavic Pro’s illegal now, thanks to this nonsense.

Probably because of the remote ID stuff.

Yeah, between that and the app issues, it’s basically a paperweight now.

@Whisper
You can get a remote ID add-on, but it doesn’t fix the app.
