So I’m looking at getting a second-hand Air 2S for around $515, but I’m not sure if I’m just rushing into it. I don’t really have any commercial use for it and not even sure if it would be just a hobby either. I already have a Mini 4K that I barely use, though I do try to fly it now and then to get better. Do you think I should hold off until I’m more serious and maybe save up for a newer model later?
The biggest difference you’d notice is better wind resistance. The Mini 4K is a great little drone, and the Air 2S flies kinda similarly. If you’re not really itching to fly or don’t have anything specific you want to shoot, I’d stick with what you’ve got for now.
@Emerson
Thanks — yeah, wind hasn’t been much of an issue since I don’t fly often. I’m thinking about starting a freelance drone side hustle and using my Part 107 for that, but I might wait until the next models come out and I’ve saved up more.
@Emerson
Yeah, good point. There’s tons of real-world reviews on YouTube too. The 2S gets mixed feedback, so it really depends on what matters most to you.

True. I’ve seen people say the colors on the 2S can be a bit off. I’ve got the 3S and it’s handled pretty much anything I’ve thrown at it.
You already have a drone. Sounds like you don’t really need another one right now.
If you’re not really using your Mini 4K, you might end up doing the same with the Air 2S. Just something to think about.
Sounds like a case of gear fever. Getting a new drone can be fun at first, but if you’re not already using what you have, it probably won’t change much long term. But hey—if you do end up buying it, there’s so much to learn and try. Just take it slow and safe
Start flying the Mini 4 regularly and get more experience. If you keep that up and feel like you’re outgrowing it, then maybe think about upgrading. Otherwise it’s probably not worth it.
Or if you really want something different, check out the Neo with FPV controls.
