Bright colors like red tend to scare birds off. Animals often avoid bright colors in nature because they think it means danger or poison. The reflections from the tape confuse them too.

Nope, not a law. I just use it to keep birds away and make it look cool. Trying to make sure it doesn’t end up looking ugly with too much tape though.
