Good luck, but if any of these patents are from GoPro’s drone days, they should remember how that turned out! What could GoPro even offer that DJI hasn’t already done?
The issue with the Karma wasn’t hardware, though. It was the software that made it flop.

Even if the Karma drone wasn’t a hit, maybe the patents are still useful. Patent battles are messy, and having more tech might help Skydio if there’s a DJI ban.
But since GoPro’s drone days are long gone, I doubt these patents will give Skydio much edge.
Can someone explain why so many people here dislike Skydio? I get that DJI’s better for most uses, but I see Skydio drones used in military stuff sometimes, so they can’t be that bad.

Skydio’s strategy has often been to push out competition rather than improve their own stuff. They’ve spent a lot on lobbying, which is pretty intense for a drone company.

Skydio made a lot of money from consumer sales and then used that money to lobby for bans on competitors, not just in military and government markets but also for consumers. The issue is, they stopped making consumer drones themselves, so if a ban happens, it leaves regular users with no American alternative to DJI.
The Skydio 2 and 2+ were awesome for motion tracking and avoiding obstacles. I own DJI, Autel, and Skydio, and Skydio is unmatched in those areas. But, after seeing how they used the money from customers like me to try to ban drones we need, I’d say they’ve lost my support.

Ukraine apparently didn’t find them useful for military needs. Just because they’re there doesn’t mean they’re the right tool for the job.
Other companies put more effort into adapting and improving based on what works.

People are mad at Skydio for lobbying to ban DJI, and they’re ignoring any national security angle, just shouting about how they want their DJI drones.
