I have a $400 budget and need a drone for photography and videography. Looking for something with good wind resistance and solid camera quality. Any model works!
You might want to check out the Mini 4K. It’s around $300 with a single battery.
Once you have the drone, you might want to pick up some extra accessories like extra batteries and an external charger. Not necessary to start flying, but definitely useful later.
Also, if you haven’t already, visit https://faadronezone-access.faa.gov/ to take the TRUST training and register your drone when you get one.

Nice. Now you just need to find a drone that works for you.
If you’re buying used, be careful—always test fly it first. Run at least half a fully charged battery to check for overheating or other issues.
Also, make sure the seller unbinds the drone from their account before you hand over any money.
If you buy new from a dealer, you won’t have to worry about that. I got my Mini 4 Pro from Best Buy and my Neo directly from DJI.
@Tilden
I know to do a test flight, but what do you mean by unbinding?
If you’re in the U.S., are you considering the $175 cost for the Part 107 exam if you plan to use the drone commercially?

I don’t need a Part 107 just to buy a used drone.
@Jules
And I never said I was flying commercially.
@Jules
You mentioned photography and videography, so I figured you might be using it to make money.

Nope, it’s just for personal use.

I take photos for myself, not to sell.
I have a Mini 4K combo for sale—$200. Less than a year old. Located in SoCal. DM if interested.
