Hi everyone, I’m new to drones and super excited to get my first one! My mom said she’d buy one for me, and I can pick between the Mini 3 Pro and the Mini 4 Pro. I’d like the Mini 4, but I noticed the controller doesn’t have a screen, which seems inconvenient. Any major differences between the two? What would you recommend?
If you can, definitely get the controller with the screen. Not having to plug in your phone is a huge plus… you won’t have to deal with notifications or worry about phone battery either.

Until you forget the cord
@Laine
Why would anyone take it off in the first place?

I don’t really mind it. I keep an old phone for the screen and low-res storage. Works fine for me!
@Phoenix
That’s cool, but just know that if it’s really hot outside, iPhones might shut down the screen to cool off.

Lucky for me, my Samsung doesn’t do that

Actually, some of the newer Samsung phones do. Mine overheated without any warning… just a black screen when I took it out of my pocket!

But if you get the controller with the screen, you won’t have access to SDK features.

Not an issue with the newer Pixel models. Innovation lol

This is why I don’t use iPhones.
@Phoenix
I never thought of that! But actually… do you need a SIM or mobile data to fly?
@Jesse
Would a beginner even need SDK?

Not right away, but if you start getting into advanced stuff, it can be handy. I’m in architecture school and use mine for site analysis.
@Jesse
You can still get SDK access with some workarounds.
@Jesse
Wait, what exactly is SDK?

Worst advice ever lol.
Why not get the 4 Pro and save up for the screen controller later? That way you still have a controller as a backup.

Or just sell the extra controller on eBay!
