Why do you think no US drone company has taken on DJI yet?

So, here’s what I don’t get… DJI is like the king of drones, right? You’d think a big American company would step up and compete, but it just hasn’t happened. I was looking at some US-made drones, and honestly, they don’t come close to what DJI is doing. Why do you think we don’t have a solid US competitor in the drone market?

All the key components for drones are made in China, and the US just doesn’t have the manufacturing infrastructure to compete.

The US is still ahead in microchip tech, though. China’s playing catch-up there.

It’s not just China. Other countries like Mexico are coming up fast in manufacturing, too.

Mexico has a highly skilled workforce, but US-Mexico relations haven’t always been great.

But with population differences, Mexico can’t fully replace China’s role.

It’s not just the US struggling—Europe can’t keep up with DJI either.

It’s not just about making the drones—it’s about designing and selling them. GoPro could’ve done it, but they dropped the ball.

True, but most of that manufacturing is still happening in places like Taiwan.

Taiwan’s tech lead is a big part of why the US stays ahead in some areas.

It’s all about global supply chains.

US companies need visionary leaders willing to invest long-term. Right now, it’s all about quick profits.

What about Autel? They make pretty solid drones.

Autel isn’t a US company, though.

Maybe Teal could be a real competitor?

Their stuff doesn’t quite measure up to DJI.

Looks like a ban on DJI might actually happen. Things could change soon.

R&D costs in the US are just through the roof. Even with solid sales, it’s tough to stay profitable.

GoPro had a shot with the Karma but pulled the plug when regulations started rolling in. They could’ve done something great.

Same goes for cameras, right? Just swap China with Japan.

Exactly, but the US-Japan relationship is a lot friendlier right now.

DJI’s just been investing in R&D for so long that no one’s catching up quickly.

Even if a drone is ‘American-made,’ the parts are still coming from overseas.
