1st gen air unit keeps saying slow SD... what card should I get?

I’m using a first gen air unit on one of my drones, but every time I arm it, the video stops after a few seconds and I get a ‘slow SD’ warning. I thought I had a decent card in there, but maybe it’s not fast enough. Can someone recommend a microSD card that actually works?

Here’s the one I’m using now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4C6K63K?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

Here’s a list from DJI support that shows which cards they recommend:

Yeah I saw that one, but it doesn’t say anything about the air unit specifically.

@Cam
Cards that work with DJI’s higher-end drones are usually fast enough for the air unit too.

I’m using this card right now — isn’t it fast enough?

@Cam
Yeah, that card should be more than fast enough. Have you tried formatting it? I’ve seen a few people fix the issue that way, or at least it helps temporarily. If that doesn’t work, maybe borrow another card to test?

@Sam
Yeah, I did format it and it seemed to work for a flight or two. But then the slow SD warning came back again.

Man, that’s frustrating. I’m out of ideas honestly :confused:. You might just want to test another card and see if it helps.

@Sam
Did you try formatting it inside the goggles? My Air Units usually take any decent card just fine. The O3 is way more picky though—I only use Sandisk Extreme Pro with that one.

Yeah, I formatted it in the goggles. It worked okay for a few more flights, then gave me the same error again.

Can you post a photo of the actual card? There are a ton of fakes floating around out there :man_shrugging:t2:

I use a Samsung Pro Ultimate in my quad and it’s been flawless. If you got a legit version of the card you linked, it should be fine—it’s U3/A2 rated. Could be a bad batch or maybe it’s just a fake.
