3D-Printed 'Remove Before Flight' Tag for My Drone – Useful or Overkill?

Hey everyone,

I designed and 3D-printed a little ‘remove before flight’ tag as a reminder to put my SD card back in before taking off. I often do aerial sports coverage where quick turnaround times matter, and forgetting the SD card can mean an extra 10-20 minutes of unnecessary walking.

I wasn’t expecting this to be so controversial, but apparently, opinions are divided! Some people think it’s a great idea, while others say I should just carry a spare SD card instead. What do you all think?

Would you use something like this, or do you have a different method for making sure your SD card is always in place?

Forget the downvotes. It looks like you’re having fun, and honestly, I’ve forgotten to replace my SD card plenty of times too. If this helps you, then it’s a win!

Yeah, for real! People take this stuff way too seriously. Rule #1 of flying drones: HAVE FUN!

I barely remember to put my gimbal protector back on after a flight. I usually only do it when I’m packing up my drone in its case.

Same here, honestly. I do make sure to put it on when my drone is bouncing around in a golf cart, though. Gravel roads and gimbals don’t mix well!

I do semi-live coverage of sports events, and my editing station is usually a 5-10 minute walk away. If I forget my SD card in the computer, that’s an extra 10-20 minutes of walking. This tag helps me avoid that.

I actually like the idea, but honestly, just buy a second SD card for redundancy. That way, if one fails, you have a backup.

After walking half a mile to a field and realizing my SD card was still in my laptop one too many times, this little tag became a time-saver, not an extra hassle.
