Accidentally reformatted my SD card on the Pocket 3… am I able to recover the files?

I had about 100GB left on my 256GB SD card, but I accidentally reformatted it while I’m on a trip. My SD card reader is back home, and I don’t think my Mac has a microSD reader. Am I still able to film like 10GB worth of content, or should I avoid doing that? I’m on day 4 of a 10-day trip, and my SD card reader is back home :grimacing:

It’s better not to use the memory card. Any further writing on the card will reduce the chance of recovering the files.

Anything that gets written to the card could and likely will overwrite remnants of previous files. Overwriting is the death knell of any existing data. If you really want those files, do not put the card into anything until you can connect it to a computer and use software to try to recover the files. Best of luck.

Thank you! Would you have any software recommendations?

You can try using Recuva and see if it works. The main thing is to remove the SD card from the Pocket and don’t use it until you try to recover the data.
