Air 3s and a Foggy Sunrise in Autumn ... What do you think?

Wow that water is clear

Edited or not, this is an awesome shot! I love my Air 3S too. Just need more time to fly it.

The photo looks great, even with the crop. I really wish the Air 3S could rotate its sensor like the Mini. It’s so handy for vertical shots.

You can set it to 9:16 right on the drone, though!

@Kai
But isn’t that just cropping the sensor? I haven’t looked into the 3S much, so I could be wrong.

From what I know, it gives a preview of the ‘crop’ area, but the quality stays the same.

@Kai
Yeah, that sounds like a sensor crop. It’s not great to shoot in that mode since you’re losing data on the sides without any benefit. The Mini actually rotates the camera, so you keep the full sensor data when shooting vertical.

The full-frame image from the drone looks incredible. It’s amazing how it follows the river to the distant sunrise. Well done!

If it’s not edited, I’m curious about the shadow of the bridge. It looks clearer than everything else in the picture.

@Rowan

@Kai
I see. I’m guessing you shoot in JPEG, and it does some ‘editing’ when saving. That strip under the bridge just doesn’t look natural, which is why I questioned it. Pretty shot though!

Oh yeah, I don’t know how to edit raw yet. I just set it on auto and let it do its thing.

@Kai
Set it to shoot JPEG and RAW. Play with the RAW file in Lightroom and have fun with it. Then check out some videos on YouTube :wave:

@Rowan
You’re probably seeing the reflection off the clouds above since the sun was just coming up.

@Rowan
Looks like what you’re seeing is mist coming off the water. You can see it clearer in the shadow of the bridge, which creates that effect.

@Rowan
They won’t respond. It’s clearly edited.

Oh okay. Colors look fine. Were you using a polarized filter?
