Almost Done With My First Official Drone Build… Any Tips?

I’m really close to finishing my first official drone build. I’m saying ‘official’ because this is the first time I’m using a proper frame for it. I’ve always made my own frames before. It’s also the first time I’m using stacked ESC and flight controller. Just waiting on the ESC, and then it should be ready for line of sight flying.

Great choice of frame for a first build. Looks neat!

Is that a SpeedyBee FC you’ve got on there? I’ve used those before, they’re awesome. Also, what firmware are you planning to use?

I’m using Betaflight. I think I flashed it to Bluejay.

@Taylor

I’m dying to learn how to fly FPV. Right now, I’m one of those guys who just flies DJI and lets the drone do all the work. I want to become a real pilot someday though. Kudos to you for making it this far!

Post this on r/fpv. They’d love to see it there.

What motors are you using, and what FC/ESC setup did you go with?

I’m using the SpeedyBee F405 and T-Motor 1750KV.

You’re still missing the VTX, camera, and antenna, though. So, you’ve basically built half a drone.

I’ve been following some YouTube tutorials to do a DIY build like this. I come from a software background. How do you decide which remote and goggles to buy for this kind of build? I don’t know much but am eager to learn.
