I just look at the screen and fly as if it’s a video game.
Do you only look at the screen once it’s in the air? I’m never sure where to look.
I keep an eye on the screen, but I try to maintain line of sight as much as possible. If I lose sight of it, I still have the screen to guide me.
I got a Mini 2 SE to practice on. Once I feel confident and the anxiety goes away, I’ll move up to a more advanced drone.

Preparation and practice are key. Do a full check of your drone and surroundings before each flight. The more you fly, the more comfortable you’ll get. I still get nervous sometimes, but it’s not as bad as it used to be.

Flying higher up keeps you away from most obstacles. I still get nervous, but I use that to my advantage by running through pre-flight checks and having a plan for any problems.

I still get nervous every time I fly. It’s like sending your kid off on their first day of school, especially when it’s over water!

Try using a flight simulator like DJI Virtual Flight. It helped me get more comfortable. I used to be super careful, but now I just go for it knowing I can replace the drone if needed. You get used to it with time.

Is your anxiety about heights or just worrying about breaking the drone?

Probably more about breaking the drone.

Yeah, I mostly worry about it falling and causing damage to something or someone.

Try adding one of these lights to your drone: https://a.co/d/6UHUdv5

Look up Neewer Drone Strobe Light. That should help you find it.

In my opinion, keeping visual line-of-sight with a GPS drone seems a bit unnecessary. It’s more useful for model airplanes.
