I’ve got one and it’s fantastic! I made some Lightroom presets to really enhance the zoom lens shots. Great drone all around.
I have the Classic version. Sometimes I wish I had the telephoto lens, but then I remind myself I got the Classic for half the price of the Pro. The images are stunning, and it’s a huge upgrade from the Mini series. The optics are way better too—no lens flares ruining my shots. I do miss the vertical shooting mode from the Mini, but the Mavic 3 makes up for it in every other way. Unless you really need the telephoto lens, I’d recommend going for the Classic.
@Micah
I have both the Classic and the Cine version, and honestly, the telephoto lens is just ‘ok.’ I’m a videographer, and it’s not really useful for high-end projects because the quality isn’t the best. But it’s handy for lower-budget jobs where you just need the shot. If you do more photography, though, you might appreciate it more. Otherwise, the Classic is the better deal.
How do you think it performs? It’s a DJI drone, of course it’s gonna be awesome!
I want one so bad!
It’s the flagship model for a reason.
I had a Mavic 3 with the telephoto lens and now own a Mavic 3E. The flight time is excellent—easily 30-35 minutes. The mechanical shutter on the 3E almost completely eliminates rolling shutter issues, even at high speeds. The 20MP sensor is great for low-light shots, and the obstacle avoidance sensors work perfectly. All in all, it’s a very professional drone in a compact package.
I have the Mavic 3 Pro, and I use it mostly for asset inspections and photography. Different drones for different jobs!
I love my Mavic 3. It handles strong winds like a champ, and the zoom camera is incredible for its size. I have the Air 3 as well, but the Mavic 3 is definitely worth the extra money if you need more power and better image quality.
Mavic 3 Pro user here. I love it! It handles the wind really well, and the optical zoom is a nice bonus. I usually get around 35 minutes of flight time per charge.
There are tons of videos and reviews out there. Why not check those out?
For me, the Mavic 3 is just like the Pro, but with a better classification (C1). This is more relevant for Europeans, but it’s something I appreciate. The picture you shared shows a Mavic 3 from the Enterprise series, by the way.
@Teo
I’m from the U.S., what does the C1 classification mean? And what’s the difference between the Mavic 3 and the Pro? Is it just the weight?

Good question! Since 2024, all drones sold in Europe must follow the Cx rules, which include having a Return-to-Home function and keeping noise levels below a certain limit. The critical weight limit is 900g, and the Pro model exceeds that, so it can’t meet the C1 classification. With a C1 drone, you have fewer restrictions on where you can fly compared to heavier models. The Pro model is slightly heavier due to more features, but the classification matters more for flying in certain areas.
@Teo
Got it, thanks for clearing that up!

Oh, and if you fly a C2-classified drone, you’ll need an A2 certificate to fly in certain areas. It’s not too hard to get, but it includes a practical exam which makes it more expensive. Without it, you’ll be restricted to open areas with at least 150 meters of space from people and buildings.
@Teo
I think it’s still 50 meters from people, but yeah, 150 meters away from areas like parks and residential zones. So basically, you have to fly far from everything.
Nope.
