Anyone know a good place to fix a Mini 3 Pro? DJI says it’s the aircraft board and wants a lot

Hey everyone, so my DJI Mini 3 Pro experienced an aircraft board malfunction less than two weeks after warranty expired. I sent the drone over to DJI and they came back with a quote of $432 for the repair. This was an error that was no fault of my own, and it happens to be a malfunction of one of the most expensive parts of the drone.

Been going back and forth with them to have them try to lower the price because:

  1. I barely flew my drone so it is essentially new (estimate 8 - 12 battery cycles in total) and to have this happen so quickly on a new drone is discouraging
  2. Warranty ended less than two weeks before this remote id error
  3. It’s not an error caused by pilot (if it were to happen again, would I be out on another $432 to repair?). I’ve already spent close to $800 on the initial purchase
  4. The mini 4 pro bundle was just going for $399 at my local costco a few weeks ago. This repair quote is more than the cost of the bundle with accessories included\

I was wondering if anyone knows of alternatives or reputable drone repair shops that can get the job done for less. I live in NYC/Brooklyn area, and can ship it to other areas of the country if need be.

Thanks in advance!

Your Mini 3 Pro batteries work with the Mini 4 Pro, so maybe just upgrade? You could still use some of the stuff you already have.

I’d really like to, but it feels like I’d just be throwing away a nearly new Mini 3 Pro and all the money I spent on it.

What exactly is the issue with the board?

When I turn on the drone, it throws a remote ID error and won’t link to the controller or let me take off. DJI says it’s a problem with the aircraft board.

@Keir
Do you still have the drone with you? This can be fixed using special flashing software. $400 is way too much for that.

DJI still has it right now since they’re waiting on my payment. Is there a specific tool or program you’re talking about?

@Keir
Yeah there is. Send me a message and I’ll explain.
