I’m thinking about getting one of these drones and wanted to hear what folks here think. I’m leaning toward the Pro, but Amazon has a deal right now on the Mini 4K Fly More combo for $379. Just so you know, I work in construction. I’d mostly be using the drone to check areas I can’t reach with a manlift and maybe get some wide shots of my crew working. Any thoughts or advice would help. Thanks!
For me the difference is huge. The Mini 4K is basically just a rebranded Mini 2, which I used before upgrading. The Mini 4 Pro has a much better camera and completely different flight features like obstacle avoidance, subject tracking, and waypoint flying.
The Mini 2 always felt like using a phone camera in the air. The Mini 4 Pro feels way more serious, like a real camera setup.
If you’re using it on a construction site, the Mini 4 Pro makes way more sense. It has obstacle avoidance, which means you’re less likely to crash it. If the Mini 4K hits something, you’ll be walking all over the site trying to find it. And yeah, your coworkers will probably roast you for that lol.
The Mini 4 Pro’s sensors really help keep it safe. There’s another one, the DJI Flip, that has forward sensors and prop guards so it can bounce off stuff without going down.
If it were me, I’d go for the Mini 4 Pro with the RC2 remote. The built-in screen makes everything quicker. With a good case, you can have it flying in under two minutes.
