Are drones really changing how wars are fought… thoughts?

I saw something about drones being the future of warfare. What’s everyone’s take? Are we already there?

Looks like Red Cat is being called the top pick right now.

With the way things are shaping up next year, I’ve heard Red Cat might be focusing on mergers and acquisitions. That’s probably why it’s being noticed. Expect a lot of changes in the drone industry, especially if the war in Ukraine comes to an end.

Feels like we’re living in a sci-fi movie. Drones flying everywhere… next thing will be robots on the ground.

Not just on the ground… think underground and underwater too.

@Zinn
The goal seems to be removing the human costs entirely.

@Zinn
Imagine the energy needed for a robot that digs through tunnels. Maybe they’d use a power cable to get the job done, then send in smaller robots to finish. And of course, the digging robot could also carry explosives. This is starting to sound terrifying.

What if wars were just robots fighting robots instead of targeting people? Too bad that probably won’t happen.

@Farley
The sad truth is, the main goal is still about harming the people behind the robots. It’s like the real reason for the war gets lost, and the focus just becomes destruction.

Can’t believe how fast this all happened.

We’re not really in the future yet… wars are still about violence and destruction.

What do you think wars will look like in the future?

There’s that old Star Trek episode where planets stopped physical wars. They just ran simulations, and anyone declared dead in the simulation had to report for euthanasia.

I hope people eventually realize how pointless wars are.

@Ash
Humans have always fought. I appreciate your optimism, though.

Humans also know how to cooperate. You seem to have faith in conflict being the norm.

@Ash
The ones who think wars are dumb might get overtaken by those who don’t.

Maybe you should try reading something that challenges your views.

War seems like the default state for humanity.

Is that what they told you in basic training?
