Are the DJI Goggles N3 really worth it for FPV flying... anyone tried them?

So I’ve been looking into the DJI Goggles N3 as an FPV option for my DJI Neo, and they look amazing for the price ($229). The build quality, battery life, and crisp 1080P feed seem great, but I’m wondering if they’re actually worth it compared to other FPV headsets. I’m also curious about the head tracking and how user-friendly they are for beginners. Anyone tried these and got thoughts on them?

I’ve been using them with my Neo for a few weeks now, and they’re pretty awesome! The weight distribution makes them super comfortable even for longer flights.

That’s great to hear! Do they feel heavy after a while? I’ve used goggles before that really pressed on my face.

@Leith
Not at all! The battery is at the back, so the weight is balanced nicely. Plus, the memory foam padding helps a lot.

@Leith
What’s memory foam padding? Sorry if that’s a dumb question. :sweat_smile:

Not dumb at all! It’s a squishy material that molds to your face, so it’s super comfy even if you wear it for a while.

The head tracking is a game-changer for me! It makes flying so immersive, but I’d suggest starting without it if you’re new to FPV.

How does the head tracking work? Does it just follow where you look?

@Joss
Exactly! If you turn your head left, the drone moves left. It’s super responsive but can take some getting used to.

@Joss
Can you turn it off if you don’t like it?

Yep, you can toggle it on and off in the settings. I keep it off for tight spaces like forests.

The battery life on these is solid! Almost 3 hours on a full charge, which is more than enough for a few flights.

What about the charging time? Does it take forever to juice up?

@Ben
Not at all—it takes about 90 minutes for a full charge, and you can even use them while they’re plugged in.

@Ben
Wait, you can use them while charging? That’s a lifesaver for longer sessions!

I love the crisp video feed. No latency issues, and the 1080P at 60fps makes it feel like you’re actually in the drone.

Is there a lot of interference, especially at longer distances?

@Rory
Not in my experience! The O4 transmission system keeps the feed stable even at the max range.

@Rory
What’s the max range for the feed?

It depends on the drone! For the Neo, it’s 6.2 miles, and for the Avata 2, it’s 8 miles. Pretty impressive!
