Are there any good drone brands other than DJI

Mine is simple and straightforward as my title here says haha

Not really, unless you are looking for something either extremely budget-friendly or top-of-the-line.

Lockheed Martin is generally regarded as superior in most aspects, though not the most affordable.

General Atomics is also excellent, but comes with a high price tag.

I searched Amazon for a Lockheed Martin drone. No luck.

Autel, fimi, but not as good as dji

Autel has really declined in quality, while Fimi is known as a budget brand.

The Fimi X8 2022 V2 offers rainproof capabilities, a drop module, a real-world range of around 7 km, a 32-minute flight time, and a decent camera, though it might not be ideal if you’re planning to sell the photos. They’ve also released a Pro model for around $700, which includes obstacle avoidance and a 47-minute flight time, all without any geo-fencing.

A budget drone, like I said.

I agree with this. I’ve owned several DJI drones and also had a Fimi X8 2020. The Fimi was solid, with comparable camera quality. It was fast and very stable. I’m interested in getting the 2022 Pro model. I’m not picking one brand over the other, but the Fimi X8 series is definitely underrated. You should check out Captain Drone’s review on YouTube.

Agreed, I use my X8 2022 V2 a few times a week too. The drop module is definitely a cool feature!

Admit I have not heard of them, but curious. How long have they been around?

They have been around for at least 5 years and are usually a few years behind DJI (which is reflected in the price), but their build quality is excellent. Fimi is a subsidiary of Xiaomi and released their first drone in 2017.

Oh, haven’t known that. I just would not go with autel because there isn’t much spare parts at least where I live

I own a 2019 Fimi, and my only issue with it is the lack of a beacon. When I reached out to them, they said it wouldn’t be included in any future updates. The newer version does have it, so it might be a hardware limitation. Other than that, it performs excellently: it flies smoothly, hovers steadily, captures great video and photos, and has impressive battery life. Just keep in mind that it’s a Chinese-based brand, which might be a concern for some.
