I’m considering getting a DJI Neo since it’s on sale near me. As a beginner, it seems like a good price point before jumping into more advanced drones.
I have a couple of questions:
Can I control it using my phone?
Will I be able to see what it sees through my phone and take pictures or videos?
I saw a video of someone using a high-end drone for aerial shots, and while I know this model won’t have the same features or camera quality, I’d like something simple to start with.
Yes, you can control it with your phone and view its camera feed. However, the range and functionality are more limited compared to using a dedicated controller. If possible, consider a used DJI Mini, which offers better range and performance but requires a controller in addition to your phone.
They’re great for beginners. I have one and also a Mini 3. If you’re mainly looking for photo and video, the Neo is perfect. Just keep in mind it’s not ideal if you want to explore acro flying later, as the controls are very different from FPV drones.
