I just got a secondhand DJI Mini 4 Pro and went through the Care Refresh process with the video. After that, I took some of my first shots with it during a storm that had a tornado warning. This was near Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, you can even spot the dam in the background.
Hey, what’s the care refresh video all about?

If you don’t buy DJI Care Refresh when you first get the drone, you can still get it by sending them a video showing your drone is working fine. Here’s the link: https://service.dji.com/djicare/customerupload?lang=en. They check the serial number, gimbal, and make sure everything looks good. Then you can buy the plan. For the Mini 4 Pro, I paid $125 for 2 years. It gives you 4 replacements total, including 2 for flyaways. You still pay something for each claim though—$65 for damage and $225 for flyaways. Hopefully I never need it, but I’m going on a long bicycle trip from the Midwest US to the southern tip of South America starting in September. It’s nice knowing I won’t be out the full price if something goes wrong.

That makes sense! I just got mine replaced through care refresh too. They sent the new one overnight. I had it the very next day after paying the fee.
Hope your trip goes well!

I was a bit worried I wouldn’t be able to get the plan since I bought the drone used. So it was great to learn it was still possible after someone mentioned it here on the forum. Feels good knowing it’s covered—especially if something like the controller crashes or disconnects, which isn’t even my fault really.
When I saw the tornado warning pop up on my phone, I was kind of hoping I’d catch one on video. But yeah, probably for the best that I didn’t!
