I picked up an item secondhand and just realized it still has someone else’s account on it. Is there a way to change that? Not really sure what to do next.
The original owner has to unbind it first. That’s the only way.

What if I bought it used and can’t contact the previous owner? What does it actually mean if I’m using it but it’s still connected to them?

Unfortunately, only the person who originally linked the device can unbind it. That’s how DJI locks things down.

So should I factory reset it or contact DJI? What can the original owner actually do if it’s still tied to their account and I’m using it?
You can try reaching out to DJI to unbind it, but they usually need proof and it’s not always easy. It might be better to see if you can contact whoever sold it to you.

It’s kind of like buying a locked phone. The original owner could report it stolen or block it, which makes it useless even if you have it in your hands.

Would it be different if it’s just an action camera? Could I still use it if I don’t connect it to wifi? Also, I bought it through Amazon Resale and it turns on and works… does that mean it’s okay to use even if it’s still bound?

If it’s a drone, they could mark it as lost or flyaway, which can basically lock it down remotely and turn it into a paperweight.

This one’s the Action Camera 4. Got it from Amazon Resale. Should I talk to Amazon or DJI? And if I get it unpaired, does it stop working until I bind it again?
