I’ve got the Mini 3, and it won’t let me fly closer than a foot or two to the ground. It’s super frustrating when trying to get through tight gaps because the drone suddenly jolts up when it detects something below it. I’ve almost crashed because of this. Does the Mini 4 Pro do the same, or is there a way to turn off that feature?
Most DJI drones have downward sensors that control the minimum flying height. You can’t usually turn this off since it’s used to prevent crashes and for landing.
The Mini 4 Pro has a lot of sensors and doesn’t do well in tight spaces or indoors. It’s meant for outdoor use. You can set it to bypass obstacles with the sensors, but it still won’t fly super low or through tight gaps. I use my Avata or other DJI O3 drones for stuff like that.
Can you turn off the obstacle avoidance? I also heard you can tape over the height sensor to stop it.

Switch it to Sport Mode, and then you can crash into whatever you want.
You’ve got two options: put it in Sport Mode, which disables the sensors and lets you fly close to the ground, or go into the Fly app on the controller. In the advanced safety settings, you can turn off the bottom sensors.
What if you put it in Sport Mode and then lower all the speed settings for Sport Mode in the app? Would that work?
