Can you use drones as video cameras?

Quick question: Can you use a high-quality camera drone like a regular video camera?

They tend to overheat pretty fast if they’re not flying, so it’s not really ideal.

My Air 2S actually has onboard cooling fans, though…

You mean carrying it around to shoot regular video? Technically, yes, but you might get more out of a newer smartphone, a GoPro, or a DSLR. They’re about the same price range and could be more practical.

Not sure about other drones, but my Mavic Air 2 doesn’t record sound, which is kinda important for regular video recording.

Oh, I didn’t think about that. Does it have any ports to connect a mic?

You could record the audio separately and sync it to the video later. Some people use a DJI mic with the RC2 and screen record the RC2 feed along with the drone footage.

  1. Does the RC2 have screen recording?
  2. Can we do the same with the RC-N3?

@River
No, no mic port on mine.

Yes, it’s possible.
