I received this drone as a gift about five years ago, but I never got around to using it. Recently, I decided to give it a try. I charged the battery, downloaded the AR.FreeFlight 2.4 app, adjusted the IP address according to the manual, and located the drone’s Wi-Fi signal. However, I encountered an issue when attempting to connect to the drone’s Wi-Fi. Does anyone have any insights into why this might be happening? Perhaps there’s a different app I should be using? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I’m not sure if you still have it, but I bought one yesterday and was experiencing the same issue until I solved it. Turn off cellular service, connect the drone’s battery, and select WiFi in the device settings. In my case, an iPhone 14 is connected to the drone’s wifi, but despite this, I never see wifi bars, and all of the drone’s wifi settings are default and automatic; I didn’t make any changes to the manual to enter the address, download, and launch AR.freeflight 2.4. From this point on, it becomes a little tricky. Continue touching Piloting until it stops saying “WiFi is not available” and hangs for a little while. At that point, you should see a loading screen with a loading circle in the upper right corner. After a few touches, if it still reads “no wifi,” close the app, minimize it, then open it again while continuing to press pioliting.
Still didn’t function? Disable the wifi on the phone, disconnect and reconnect the drone, then repeat the process. After a few tries, it will connect. The best course of action after connected is to stay in the app and connect to the drone’s wifi from the control center. If you switch applications, the app won’t function.
Additionally, stay in the app even if you want to swap out the drone’s battery and connect it to wifi via the phone’s control center. When the drone is switched on, it will immediately connect to your app.
